These portraits resemble sculptural busts and are shot of those close to me in lockdown. They are posed with their eyes closed, and with their neck offered as a place to be adorned, transformed, bejeweled.

These works were made as a response to Covid-19, as a way of examining my fear of losing loved ones. Early on in the pandemic, I was numbed through conversations with friends and family in Italy and Spain, where many deaths were occurring. In these moments, I imagined those I loved dead. These photographs are my remembrance and revere to those people close to me, confronting my fear of the possibility of losing them. They were shot unadorned in my living room of the people I saw in lockdown 1, against a blue curtain.
