'Stigma'

The jewellery represents a situation through the pairing of body and object, using the language of  critical design. The object on the body has a strange and provocative outlook. The pump, as the  object used, strongly evokes both formal and meaningful associations.

The female body is depicted in countless ways. It can symbolise beauty, passion, but most of all  fertility. Unfortunately, the female body is often objectified. The breast, as the primary fertility  organ, is associated with many objects. The pump as an unpleasant object, distant from our body,  is seen as a criticism of the female body. In addition to being similar in form, it also appears as a  stigma in its symbolism, like a distorted mirror, which I would like to explore through the strange  pairing of body and object
